PBJ Studio specializes in photographing baby bumps, newborns, toddlers, children, seniors and families. We are contracted with Amanda's Dance Academy (the beauty of the dancers takes my breath away). Life Events such as birthdays, anniversaries, adoptions, personal celebrations, etc. are also on our radar. You will not find Weddings/Engagement sessions on the PBJ plate.
My passion is photographing children of all ages. I love their never-ending curiosity and energy. Their little faces contain such a riot of unguarded emotion that I feel I cannot shoot fast enough to catch it all [thus the machine-gun firing of the camera]. When someone tells me that their little one is incorrigible, I know that we are going to have an awesome session!
And I love photographing the entire family. There is such a joy I feel when I capture gorgeous photographic memories that will be enjoyed for generations. Then we get busy figuring out the best way to set up the wall display so the images don't just sit in a drawer. How creative can we get? Anything [with a little help from me and Pinterest] is possible!
Then there are the stylized mini sessions. I guess it comes from being a child who always had my nose in a fairytale book and the summers that I spent tromping through the woods dragging fallen logs about to create castles to protect my little sisters from dragons. I want the mini session to be an adventure where a child doesn’t remember a camera in his/her face, but the giggles. I’m always thinking of new ideas so you will want to watch Facebook for announcements. Some of my favorite mini sessions are:
- The Enchanted Forest Fairy Day
- The Sandlot
- The Princess Party
I go on a scavenger hunt when the garage sales begin to find props for whatever I might think up. We have all the Disney Princess dresses you could ever want, vintage pedal cars, lots of fun chairs for containing wiggly ones, etc. Hmmm….I’m still looking for that serious 3 year-old boy to wear my Sherlock Holmes costume, lean on our vintage convertible pedal car, surrounded by real hound puppies, with a fog machine humming in the background!
